ANNUAL BEDDING PLANTS

FL004 STRAWBERRY STICK CHENOPODIUM
Appropriately named for its numerous , strawberry like edible fruits all along the stems. Light green foliage on base branching plants. Excellent for beds, borders and tubs.

FL005 PINK ABELMOSCHUS
A rather rare and absolutely beautiful bedding plant that can also be raised in 4" pots throughout the winter. It is kin to the Hibiscus and bears loads of lovely pink flowers. Grows to about 12-15 inches tall and will bloom until frost. Seeds will sprout in about 2-3 weeks. Be careful not to overwater, they like the ground only slightly moist. Needs soil temperatures of 75 degrees to germinate.
Sorry, but very few seeds on hand, can only give 5 seeds to a pack, but you should be able to save quite a few seeds from first years crop. $1.95
FL006 APRICOT TAPESTRY. ALYSSUM
A very new fashionable color that is sure to become a favorite. Features loads of contemporary buff-apricot cream in a compact flowering form. Excellent bedding plant. Seeds need light for germination. 50 tiny seeds $1.95

FL010 JOSEPH'S COAT ( AMARANTHUS )
This form of amaranthus grows quickly to 3 ft. with richly variegated foliage. A very hardy form of amaranthus. Likes dry, sunny locations. Sow seeds on surface, will germinate in about 10-15 days.

FL011 STRAWBERRY PARFAIT DIANTHUS
A very attractive and unusual dianthus with a bright red eye surrounded by shades of light rose edge. Very appealing.

FL015 SCARLET LADY'S SLIPPERS ( BALSAM )
Very attractive scarlet double flowers growing to 12 inches tall. Also has attractive foliage and performs very well in the flower garden. Germinates in about a week.

FL020 COCKTAIL SERIES BEGONIAS MIXED
The familiar potted varieties you see everywhere in Spring. Much cheaper to raise than to purchase as plants. All have lush, bronze foliage. The flower colors are: Brandy/ soft pink flowers, Gin/ soft rose-pink flowers, Rum/white flowers with a rose red band around the edge, Vodka/bright scarlet flowers and Whiskey/pure white flowers.

FL021 SOUTH AFRICAN DIMORPHOTHECA
This is the famous flower from the flora of the South African countryside. Grows only 12" tall with milky white blossoms so pure they appear to be luminous.

FL025 JAPANESE FLOWERING CABBAGE
A slightly different type of flowering cabbage that has wavy and fringed edges. This mixture contains two colors, red on green and white on green. Adds a distinct accent to your flower bed. Sow in July for a beautiful fall plant. Germinates in 10-15 days.

FL030 RICH APRICOT CALENDULA
Actually, this is a two toned flower in apricot shades that words cannot do justice to. Easy to grow, seeds will germinate in about 10-15 days.

FL040 DWARF COREOPSIS MIX
This is my favorite type of coreopsis. Seems to flower forever in rich hues of red and yellow. Only grows to about 12 inches tall, but stands out in the flower bed. Germinates in a couple of weeks.

FL045 FRAGRANT CARNATION MIX
The most fragrant carnations I know of in a range of colors from pink, white, yellow, red to orange. Grows to 15 in. tall with straight stems.

FL050 PURE WHITE SPIDER PLANT
A delightful spider plant that grows about 3 ft. tall. Very different, as it has pure white glistening flowers. Pre-chill seeds for about a week before sowing, should germinate in about 2-3 weeks.

Very unusual flowers in a shade of russet-orange and in the shape of cigars. Rather bushy plants growing to about 18" or so. Seeds germ. in about 3-4 weeks

An excellent edging plant that only grows to 6-8 inches tall with lacy leaves and yellow flowers. Blooms continuously throughout the season.

This is the only foxglove you will ever need for bedding and pots. Fast growing to 3 ft. with many different shades of white, cream, yellow rose and red. Blooms all summer with a profusion of flowers.

A fast growing African daisy growing to 10 inches with large, pure white flowers with black eyes. A slightly spreading plant.

FL075 SILKY CALIFORNIA POPPY
A very ornamental poppy with double and semi-double flowers in a large variety of colors. Foliage is tinted bronze. Flowers close at night.

FL080 CORAL SWIRL IMPATIENS
I suppose that a bedding plant list wouldn't be complete without impatiens. Selecting my favorite was difficult but I finally decided on this one. It is a fast grower to 8 inches with light coral color with darker picotee edge. There is something about the color blend that in quite unique. Excellent bedding plant, pot plant and hanging basket plant.

FL085 FLOWERING MAPLE ( ABUTILON )
This is a small Maple leafed plant that bears huge flowers in attractive shades. The leaves are often variegated and very attractive. Seeds will germinate in about 2 weeks.

FL090 ORNAMENTAL BASIL ( DARK OPAL )
The perfect plant for borders and mass plantings, and is quite edible. Has attractive, dark purplish-bronze foliage growing to 15 inches with spikes of lavender-white flowers. Germinates in about a week.

FL095 MEXICAN FIRE PLANT
Also called annual poinsettia, this is a very striking plant for borders, it's leaves are blotched bright red. Grows to about 3 ft. tall. Germinates in about 2-3 weeks.

This plant makes an excellent annual border with its fine fern-like foliage. Also makes an excellent inside plant for the winter months.
